The Upper Styx

First Floor Apartment - Sleeps 2+2

The "Upper Styx" is our one bedroom apartment located on the first floor of Haddock Hideaway overlooking Peveril Castle. It is perfect for a couple but has two additional daybeds which means the apartment can accommodate up to four. The en-suite bedroom has a king-size bed and the two folding beds can be used in the lounge alongside the main bathroom, providing separate facilities.

 

Comfy Chairs are located in the lounge area where we have installed a 42” television for you to catch up with the outside world.  Alternatively, you may choose to relax in the separate kitchen/diner whilst cooking or playing board games which are available for you to borrow. You will also find a range of information on the area if you are looking for inspiration. If the sun comes out you may also want to relax on the decking in the rear yard or garden as you have full access to these shared facilities.

 

We welcome Children in this apartment when it is booked alongside the Lower Styx. If you would like any further details about this, or anything else please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Checking In

Check in is from 16.00 hours. However, we have installed self check in facilities to all the apartments and rooms. This provides you with the flexibility to arrive at a time to suit you throughout the evening.  Parking can be arranged earlier by arrangement if needed but do contact us first.

Towels & Toiletries

We provide bath sheets, a hand towel and a shower mat and are more than happy to provide additional towels on request. In a quest to be environmentally friendly we opted to provide shampoo, conditioner, soap and hand & body cream in dispensers, so you can help yourself to what you need. Here at Haddock hideaway we are very excited to now provide 'Who Gives A Crap' toilet roll. I was sceptical at first but am now a convert as its soft, strong and twice as long, whilst being; good for the world, good for people and good for your bum. 

Heating & Lighting

The apartment has full thermostatically controlled central heating. Although, there is a electric fire in the lounge and should you need it. We have fitted a range of wall lights and lamps which can be illuminated in many combinations to suit you but as Haddock hideaway is a Grade II listed building it means there are many switches – happy hunting! 

Self Catering Facilities

Kitchen/diner with cooker, hob, fridge, table-top freezer, microwave and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Checking Out

Our check out time is 10.30am. We ask you leave promptly so we can maintain our high standards for all our guests. To make your check-out easy all we ask is you settle your account the night before you leave. 

Late Check Out

If you fancy extending your stay why not check out a little later.  For £15 the room is yours till 1pm.  Just let us know the night before.

We want you to make yourself at home, have a wonderful time and get the chance to relax.  It’s often the small things that make a difference so if there is anything you need do let us know in advance or when you are with us.
