Some of Our Favourite Places

Scarborough Market Hall

Is literally on the doorstep and has a wide range of fresh food.

Deli Delicious is a busy café, takeaway and delicatessen at the heart of the market hall. It sells cooked meats, freshly-baked butcher’s pies, main meals, sandwiches, cakes and snacks to eat in or take away. Upstairs on the balcony you will find Furniture & Flowers - not the most obvious place for a brew and light snack but it serves delightful light snacks from bacon sandwich, to toasty and teacake.  Everything cooked to order while you sit in the lofts of the Old Market Hall.

There are also a bakers, butchers and fishmonger who offers freshly made sushi. For an early morning option - look to the left of the Old Market Hall and you’ll find an amazing couple behind two blue shutters making homemade sandwiches to take away from roughly 7am every morning.

Harbour View Cafe (upstairs on the West Pier).

Not got a website but some of the reviews online speak for themselves. Great food (Best fish and chips EVER exclaimed my son), coupled with friendly staff. Very child friendly. Don't be put off by the exterior! The place was amazing, you can visit the pier and the city at the same time. Call them on 01947 602013 to book.

Scarborough Arms

The closest friendly family pub to Saints Cottage which offer a wide range of home cooked fresh meals with great atmosphere, weekend entertainment most weeks. Best to book a table on 01723 362883.

Looking for something special try The Farrier in Cayton, whether it’s a lite bite or a three course luncheon that is required, The Farrier restaurant and bar fits the bill. Their menus are seasonal and specialise in the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients. There is a 2/3 hour lunch and dinner window and booking is essential 01723 861432

Takeaway Options

There are a huge number of takeaways in Scarborough. If you can please do go directly to the supplier so they don’t have to pay a large commission.  However, Scarborough runs a scheme called Scarborough Eats – Scarborough's Local way to takeaway, which is worth looking at.

A couple worth mentioning are:

Fetta D'italia

A 2 minutes from the cottage and we love their pizza but they also offer a range of takeaway food. Order direct on 01723671282 or online.

Also, the Seaside isn’t complete without fish and chips.  There are a large selection but out favourite two are:

The Princess Fish & Chips

24 Eastborough, Scarborough YO11 1NW

The Famous Fish Pan

28 Foreshore Rd, Scarborough YO11 1PB
