Saints Cottage sits in the heart of Scarborough Old Town nestled under Scarborough Castle. We are just moments away from the dynamic South Bay & working harbour with easy access to the promenade that leads to the quieter North Bay beach.

 

You enter the cottage onto the lounge.  Two sofas with additional seating provide plenty of space to relax with TV, Google home and selection of Games.  Also, on the ground floor is the kitchen dinner, with plenty of facilities to eat in or pack a picnic for the beach. What’s more we have the perfect pantry on our doorstep with Scarborough old town indoor market at the end of the street. It has a butcher, baker, fishmonger and fruit and vegetable stall.

 

As you wind your way up to the first floor you’ll find two double rooms with a further bedroom room located on the third floor with king-size bed. Opposite you will find the family bathroom, where a Velux window provides stunning view of Scarborough Castle and St Mary’s Church.

 

We provide a range of information on the area, in the cottage and on our website, if you are looking for inspiration. Scarborough can provide space to relax and hours of entertainment for both adults and children. The North Bay beach offer water sports in the sea, The Alpamare Water Park and spa, Peasholm Park complete with rowing boats and pedalos, famous Open Air Theatre and Sealife centre. The South Bay is home to the Spa Theatre, Luna Park, traditional funicular railway and arcades with wide selection of penny slot machines. Not forgetting the Stephen Joseph Lawrence theatre. Alternatively if the sun comes out you may want to relax in a seafront bar/café or on the beach with a good book in a deck chair and watch the world go round.

 

If you fancy travelling further afield you could head north to Robin Hoods Bay or Whitby with the famous 199 steps that lead up to the ruins of Whitby Abbey. Alternatively head south along Flamborough Headline Heritage Coastline.

Parking in Scarborough is notoriously difficult but we provide free on street parking passes for your stay. The good news is once parked you can get most places on foot.

Checking In

Check-in is from 16.00 hours. Self check-in facilities provide you with the flexibility to arrive at a time to suit you throughout the evening.

Towels & Toiletries

We provide a bath sheets for each guest with a hand towel and a shower mat in the bathroom. In a quest to be environmentally friendly we leave a shampoo and body wash for your use so you can help yourself but you may wish to bring your own. Here at Haddock hideaway we are very excited to now provide 'Who Gives A Crap' toilet roll. I was skeptical at first but am now a convert as its soft, strong and twice as long, whilst being; good for the world, good for people and good for your bum.

Heating & Lighting

The cottage has full thermostatically controlled central heating with modern hive so we can adjust the heating to suit your needs remotely.  Alternatively, you can boost the heating at any point.  There is also a small electric fire in the lounge which creates a cosy feeling. We have fitted a range of wall lights and lamps which can be illuminated in many combinations to suit you but Saints cottage is a historic building which means there are many switches – happy hunting!

Self Catering Facilities

The Modern kitchen has a full size fridge freezer, oven, boiling/filter water tap, microwave, toaster, four ring electric hob and slim line dishwasher.  There are a selection of pots, pans, cutlery, serving and cooking tools and crockery.  A small table seats six and is ideal for breakfast or quick meal, alternatively you may which to extend to comfortably seat all your party.

Checking Out

Our check out time is 10.00 am. We ask you to leave promptly so we can maintain our high standards for all our guests. To make your check-out easy don’t forget to check the information folder the night before.

Late Check Out

You may wish to extend your stay and check out a little later at 12.  Please request option on booking or email us directly. Ideally we ask these are booked 7 days in advance but we will always do our best to accommodate and there is a small additional charge.

Most Importantly

If you fancy extending your stay why not check out a little later.  Book a late checkout in advance for a small charge and extend your holiday till midday.
